“In February 2024, the share of those... who used image creation services based on artificial intelligence increased (13% versus 10% in April 2023),” - this is exactly the information published in the introduction to the “White Paper on AI Regulation in Ukraine: Vision of the Ministry of Digital Economy. Version for Consultations” according to the Kantar Panel Ukraine survey. If this figure may seem like only the development of interest in AI, then we additionally have that “Ukrainians are actively following the development of AI. Currently, 79% of Ukrainians surveyed know what artificial intelligence is”, with a link to the article “Art or Entertainment: Ukrainians’ Attitudes to GenAI” on the website https://www.kantar.com/ua/inspiration/advertising-media/ukrainians-about-genai
AI artist Maria Gonchar, together with the Protsvitay Foundation, implemented the “Charity Drop” project, in which AI art became images on T-shirts as gifts for volunteers thanks to the Threadless print-on-demand platform and networking. Maria Gonchar and the Protsvitay Foundation also supported the first issue of the magazine “Synthetics” Issue No. 1. Artificial Intelligence: Friend or Foe” from the Ukrainian online institute Projector and the art publishing house PRJCTR Publishing & Store. This is exactly what we want to talk about at the meeting!
Using the example of AI works by Maria Gonchar from beta testing of AI image generation applications, we will talk about text descriptions and concepts, about the magazine "Synthetics", about legislative developments around AI, and even about a few theses from a recent report by Stefania Giannini, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education, on artificial intelligence. The event is dedicated to art created by artificial intelligence, its impact on society and law.
